Join us in Basel!
We are looking for talented & motivated team members who share our enthusiasm for biomolecular dynamics at the nanoscale.
In connection with our laboratory's move to the University of Basel, Switzerland, we have the following PhD student positions available:
Direct observation of chaperone proteins in action using single-molecule FRET, unnatural amino acids, nano-photonics & more. A strong protein chemistry and/or biophysics background is desired.
Novel nanopore/NEOtrap and fluorescence technologies for single-molecule proteomics / protein dynamics applications. An experimental (bio-)physicist or physical-chemist fluent in (e.g. python) programming is desired.
Artificial metalloenzymes for sustainable biotech industries. For this interdisciplinary collaboration with Dr. Sharma, we look for a chemist who will be embedded at the Laboratory of BioNanoTechnology in the Netherlands with a ~1y secondment in Basel. APPLY NOW!
Motivated and talented candidates are invited to get in touch and send their application (incl. cover letter, CV, email addresses of 2-3 references) to Sonja Schmid.
Interested postdoctoral researchers are welcome to reach out to discuss fellowship options, such as the SNSF Postdoc fellowship etc.
Starting summer 2024, we will also have openings for MSc. thesis projects. Project examples can be found here.
Interested students are welcome to contact us directly, and to mention which projects they are interested in and for what reason.
